Agents

AI agents are starting to book for customers. Is your business readable to them?

By BrandBoost Digital · October 2026

In April 2026 Google announced it was expanding agentic restaurant booking in Search to the world. Rose Yao, VP of Product Management at Google, said: We're thrilled to expand agentic restaurant booking in Search globally. An AI agent can now take a request such as a table for four on Friday and carry it out on the customer's behalf.

Booking a table is the first obvious case. The same pattern applies to any business where a customer has a request with conditions: a dentist who takes new patients and accepts a certain insurer, a plumber who can come today, a salon with a Saturday opening.

An agent can only act on what it can read

An agent has no patience for guessing. If it cannot confirm your hours, your prices or whether you take the booking, it moves on to a business where it can. Clear, structured, current information is what lets an agent treat you as an option.

Google Cloud also launched a product called Knowledge Catalog in April 2026, aimed at helping enterprise AI agents understand company data. It is a separate enterprise product and BrandBoost is not affiliated with it. The idea behind it, giving agents trusted context, is the same problem small businesses have at their own scale.

What to prepare

  • Opening hours, including holidays and emergency availability.
  • Services with price ranges and what moves the price.
  • Service area, booking method and any conditions.
  • Answers to the questions customers ask before they commit.

A BrandBoost Knowledge Catalog turns those answers into a verified, structured record. It helps AI systems understand your business. It cannot guarantee that any assistant will recommend or book you.
